What is the differences between Guild Wars and Guild Wars : Factions, and Guild Wars: NightFall?

im a huge MMORG fan. and Ive decided to get into Guild Wars. and i wanna know what the differences between these three titles are.. is Factions and Nightfall expansion packs? or two new games that i wont need the original Guild Wars for? and is it better to buy all three or get the Trilogy? What is the differences between Guild Wars and Guild Wars : Factions, and Guild Wars: NightFall?
They are all different campaigns with different focuses and plots and are loosely interconnected. The original has the largest map and perhaps the most in depth story line. Factions is oriental themed and has a focus on Player-versus-Player. This is probably the easiest to beat of the three and has the smallest map. Nightfall more or less has a middle-eastern theme and has a great diversity of plot and terrain. It has two maps, though the second is quite small. If your considering just getting one, I would suggest Nightfall. The expansion, Eye of the North, is an addendum to the original campaign and serves as a bridge between Guild Wars and the upcoming Guild Wars 2.What is the differences between Guild Wars and Guild Wars : Factions, and Guild Wars: NightFall?
They are expansions as well as standalone games. To get the most from the game though, I'd suggest buying the Trilogy.
