i'm thinking of getting Guild Wars for my girlfriend so we can play together (she used to play WoW and just got the Trial version of GW) and i found a copy of the whole collection box set for a reasonable price compared to buying them separately. however, the Collection box is European, will it work in the US?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The game itself should act just as a normal Guild Wars game code would.
